Ecuador Mountains by <<<ALIEN>>> is one of my favourite CTF maps. Very RMG
feel to it with the classic 3 ways of attack. Centre, Left using a tunnel or
right through the mountains. Highly recommended for CTF

Columbian Village by The Tech Columbian Village by The Tech is a remake of a map from 2003 by Siffer. If you like Jordan the chances are you will like this. A very nice well illuminated map with plenty of alleyways for you to explore. Well worth the download.

Some time ago when re-installing SoF2 and before adding the gold patch to bring my 3 year old CD up to date, I noticed there were lots of servers still running version 1.00 I decided to do a duplicate SOF2 installation in a second folder on my PC, but running v1.00. I have to say its like another dimension with many hundreds of players never seen on the gold version. You can add v1.00 in about 4 minutes, why not give it a try:) There are more people playing RMG than on gold!!

Playing SOF2 v1.03
Some months after SoF2 was launched a number of modifications were made to the original game which included bug fixes, new weapons, Punkbuster anti cheat software and additional maps. This update, called the Gold Patch changed your original game to v1.03. It was intended to replace to 1.00 version but if you make a copy of your original v1.00 files before applying the patch you can still play both versions.

There are loads of people playing SoF2 v1.00. Now it's easy
to give it a try and still keep your Gold version. If you
enjoy RMG CTF there are always servers with lots of players
no matter what time of day or night... It's a different
world:)
Installing Sof2 v1.00

It takes about 4 minutes to get SOF2
v1.00 up and running in addition to your
normal Gold installation by following these simple
instructions.
Remember you can still play Gold so you have nothing to
loose by having both versions. The following files and
folders are already on your PC (not your CD) 1.) Copy your 'Soldier of
Fortune II - Double Helix' folder and rename it SOF2 v1.00
2.) Delete gamex86.dll, SoF2MP.exe, SoF2.exe from your
NEW SoF2 v1.00 folder
3.) Delete pb, osp, and rocmod folders from your
NEW SoF2 v1.00 folder
4.) Delete update101.pk3, update102.pk3 &
update103.pk3
from the base folder
5.) Replace gamex86.dll and SoF2MP.exe with the files
in this
zip file

6.) Create a new desktop shortcut to sof2MP.exe in
your new SOF2 v1.00 folder That's it, You now have SOF2 v1.00 in addition to your
Gold version If you are using a firewall you will need to tell it
to allow this new version of SOF2
If you have any problems...
1. Check that you replaced gamex86.dll and SoF2MP.exe
2. DELETE your sof2mp.cfg file from the base/mp
folder (and any other copies of sof2mp.cfg in any other
v1.00 folders). This will force the game to create a new
default config file that will have none of the settings
acquired from playing gold.
You will have to re-do binds, key settings, connection type
- the default is 33k :)
There is a line in your config file that allows or disables
downloads.
seta cl_allowDownload "0"
make sure its set to '0' not '1'
You can find it by opening sof2mp.cfg in notepad by
searching for the word 'download'. If you still have

Your NEW
SoF2 v1.00 MAIN folder will need the following files

Servers
RPM is an admin mod used v1.00 servers
(NOT v1.03)
Although having the mod installed on your PC is not essential, you
will gain access to new features such as 'end of game medals' and
'custom sounds' if you have the same version of RPM on your computer
as the one the server you are playing on is using. Other features
include...
* Feature rich Admin commands *
* Easy customization of damage & ammo *
There is no Punkbuster on v1.00 but cheating and cheats are
despised and will not be tolerated. Admins are always on the
lookout for cheats in order to keep their servers clean and
enjoyable places to play. Please note that config 'tweeks'
are generally NOT permitted on v1.00 servers, these
include such things as Overbright Bits and FOV settings.
Only adjustments made possible in the options menu should be
considered OK. v1.00 is a great place to play, PLEASE ABIDE
BY THE SERVER RULES. Playing SOFII v1.00 is great fun. If
you enjoy RMG maps its about the only place you will find
regular games on well populated servers.
Some points to remember... There is no Punkbuster on v1.00 so admins have to be far
more vigilant in order to keep cheats out of the game and
off their servers. In gold we tend to rely on PB to to this
for us. If you have been playing SOFII Gold for some time
you may have built up certain skills, a good aim, fast
reactions and above all intuition. So what happens when a
skilled player from gold turns up on v1.00 - He's unknown,
the guys who have come to know him and how good he/she is
aren't around. But hey who's this guy with a 23/5 ratio?
Well your certainly going to be under scrutiny. You should
not expect any less from a decent server. Unfortunately you
may even end up with a ban even though you are totally
clean. Remember you are unknown on these servers.
OK so what to do about it... First rule on v1.00 as in Gold - Be respectful - don't
flame people.Most good servers will have a forum
where you can ask why you were banned. Don't post their
immediately after being kicked. Sleep on it and compose your
words well. You will achieve nothing except to make yourself
look stupid if you go in with an aggressive attitude. State
your case in a respectful manner, explain how long you have
been playing the game. Give details of your setup, video
card and monitor, maybe offer a copy of your config file.
V1.00 admins are aware that mistakes happen, admins are
human and WE ALL make mistakes. Getting banned may not be
the final decision - but it certainly will if you go in with
an attitude. I have great respect for a number of v1.00
servers and their admins. Admins are now becoming aware that
skilled players from gold are turning up on their servers,
as with all things it takes time to build up a trust between
friends. If in general you behave as above you should enjoy
some great games on v1.00. IF not then enjoy your ban!

This excellent pack from Dutch*SCORPION*Elite
contains ics_corsica, ics_gallery, ics_nuclear,
ics_train, ics_bank, ics_bank2 and ics_brinks from
the Gold ICS mod. It also contains many of the
standard Gold Maps air1, barn, col2, hk2, hos2,
jor1, kam3, kam4, kam5, pra2, raven, shop2 PLUS
bonus maps WW1 Trench and CSS Dust.

Single Player Maps for Multiplayer Servers (Using RPM Pro
Mod)
Many 'Single Player' maps can be played 'Multiplayer' on
servers
running SOFII v1.00 RPM Pro 3.31. and RPM Pro 4.0 As these
maps are intended for the single player game they may be
buggy and feature only one spawn
point. However by using a modified .ent file multiple
spawn points can be added making many of them very playable.
